Terms & Conditions of Service

The following terms and conditions outline how Mama’s Moving Company operates. We kindly ask that you read carefully through the following terms of using our services. Booking service with us and/or submitting a deposit confirms that you have read, understand and agree to these terms.

  1. Estimates

    Our estimates are provided as approximations and the final cost is not guaranteed. Estimates are based on our experience with similar moves. Each move is unique and influenced by factors such as stairs, elevators, distance, unexpected requests, unprepared items, and more.

  2. Booking

    To secure your move, a non-refundable 25% deposit of the estimated total cost is required. Availability of moving dates is confirmed only upon receipt of the deposit. We require a credit card on file before beginning your move. Your card information will be kept securely and will only be charged if your bill remains unpaid for 45 days after your service date. 

  3. Cost

    The final cost is determined by the actual time required for completion. If the actual time is less than estimated, the final invoice is adjusted accordingly. If it exceeds the estimate, additional charges are billed in 15-minute increments. Billing starts when we leave our facility and ends upon our return.

  4. Payment

    Full payment, minus the non-refundable deposit, is due upon receipt of the final invoice, which will be emailed to you immediately after the move. Your presence or that of a representative is required during the move and final inspection.

  5. Tipping

    While tipping is not obligatory, it is customary to tip our moving crews as a sign of satisfaction. However, please note that tips are not accepted by company owners if they are part of your crew.

  6. Service Minimums

    A minimum service and billing duration of 2 hours applies to all our services. If your move takes less than 2 hours, our movers can assist with additional tasks until the minimum time is met, or you may dismiss them. Our crews take a mandatory 15-minute rest every 4 hours, which is billable.

  7. Assembly & Disassembly

    Our skilled movers can assemble and disassemble furniture as needed. While our crew carries tools, assembly and disassembly may add unforeseen time and cost to the move. Customers are responsible for ensuring furniture adheres to safety guidelines and instructions.

  8. Furniture Protection

    We provide moving pads, packing tape, mattress bags, and plastic wrap for furniture protection at no additional cost. Although we take precautions and are skilled in protecting items, moving inherently carries a risk of damage. Mama’s Moving Company is not liable for damage to personal items, belongings or furniture unless otherwise agreed.

  9. Walls & Hardwood Floors

    While we prioritize protecting walls and floors, certain scenarios and items may result in damage. Heavy or bulky items and tight spaces may lead to floor and wall damage. Mama's Moving Company is not responsible for such damage if you choose to proceed under these conditions.

  10. High-Value Items & Perishables

    Identify high-value items before the move. We are not liable for items like electronics, jewelry, perishables, and valuable personal items. It is recommended that you arrange separate transportation for such items.

  11. Particle Board Furniture

    Our movers take steps to protect furniture, but we cannot be held responsible for damage to particle board furniture due to its inherent vulnerabilities. Disassembly is recommended for safe transport.

  12. Specialty Items

    While we have experience with specialty items like musical equipment, clocks, machinery, etc., we are not liable for mechanical or electrical issues that may arise during the move.

  13. Items We Are Unable To Move

    Prohibited or illegal items, live animals, firearms, alcohol, and certain appliances cannot be transported. Mama’s Moving Company is not responsible for any such items placed in our moving boxes or containers.

  14. Safety

    Our crew leaders prioritize safety and reserve the right to refuse unsafe requests. Mama’s Moving Company is not liable for damage resulting from unusual moving procedures or environmental factors.

  15. Tolls, Street Meters, Parking & Tickets

    Customers are responsible for local tolls, street parking, and arranging necessary permits. Parking-related fines are the customer's responsibility.

  16. Insurance

    General Liability Coverage is included, but cargo insurance is not provided. If you choose separate moving coverage, all claims will be managed by your chosen insurance.

  17. Water Lines & Gas Lines

    We do not offer liability coverage for reconnecting water and gas lines. Customers must ensure proper reconnection to avoid accidents when dealing with washers, dryers, refrigerators, and faucets.
